TANTRUM BY BROOKLYN

30 June - 19 August
Brooklyn

VANDAL presents ‘Tantrum’, an exhibition by Brooklyn, curated by Bonnie Cowan. Exhibition opening night Thursday 30th June, 6pm-9pm at VANDAL Gallery.

‘Tantrum’ is the first in an ongoing series of large scale works that capture a feeling where words fail. Abstract and multi-layered, the series is playful and moving; making space for moments that forever escape. Exploring the spontaneous, reactive response our body and mind can have when held in points of high emotion, ‘Tantrum’ works to pull these ephemeral sparks into the physical world.

Brooklyn is a multidisciplinary artist with a background in visual and performing arts and curatorial work. With an interest in understanding the body’s ability to empathise with external stimuli, Brooklyn works to capture moments that are fleeting, but often revisited and replayed over in the mind. Having worked in a number of mediums, Brooklyn is currently using colour to explore the experience of the accordion of time.
