Sydney’s New Year Eve fireworks celebration is renowned across the globe as setting the benchmark welcoming in the new year in grand proportions.

Witnessed by thousands on the night and broadcasted to millions across the world, VANDAL is proud to have been selected as key partner to deliver the evening’s countdown, content and animation, projected onto the Sydney Harbour Bridge’s pylons.

Commissioned by the City of Sydney, local Sydney talent was the heartbeat of the celebrations. VANDAL collaborated with an incredible force of local, creative partners across Welcome to Country, fireworks, tech, music, lighting and broadcast. Notable is this year’s inclusion, for the first time ever, of a dedicated ‘Welcome to Country’ ceremony as part of the 9pm fireworks. VANDAL was honoured to work with Indigenous artist extraordinaire, Blak Douglas, to bring his vision to life.

VANDAL curated an 8 hour long visual experience for the evening, orchestrating a visual spectacle of vibrant, fun and quintessentially Australian summer themes. Complimenting VANDAL’s animated visuals, the midnight countdown and subsequent celebrations incorporated a thumping track performed by The Presets as the harbour city was showered in a dazzling display of fireworks and lights.
