VANDAL was commissioned to bring to life the Sonic Light Bubble as part of JLL’s World Square’s SOUND SHINE 2019 activation. Created by ENESS, this living, breathing bubble responds with light and sound when touched.

The Sonic Light Bubble is 6m in diameter and features 105 LED light disks. Once touched, the bubble relays the vibrations to a computer where it can produce over 100 different sounds. The more people interact with it, the more music and different lights it creates. As a mesmerising and interactive installation, it is designed to humanise lighting-based public art by lively reacting to real-time vibrations. A fantastic example of digital placemaking in action, activating City of Sydney’s night time economy in the cold winter months.
